A Waiter's Ballet...

Last Saturday evening our family
converged in Chicago for a lovely weekend of
togetherness.
We were treated to a
magnificent dinner at
The Club International at the Drake Hotel.
It was a wonderful evening of family and food.
As we were enjoying our dinner and conversation,
a beautiful ballet was taking place behind us.
A well rehearsed choreography of impeccable
service whirled around us...
their whispery images captured by the camera.

It was a privilege to be a guest in their dinning room.
To be treated to the highest standard of service.

And then...
as quietly and selfless as they appeared...
they left us alone..
to enjoy our last cup of coffee..
and our last few moments of a
memorable family gathering.

Photography credits go to
my very talented brother in law,
Dave.

First Snow...

The first blast of winter is always a thrill...
And finding a cozy spot to spend the day...
That's even better.

A Brilliant, Beautiful Fall.....

When I was very young...
I remember my mom reading to me one of her favorite poems...

Trees
by Joyce Kilmer

My favorite verse..
"A tree that looks at God all day,
And lifts her leafy arms to pray.

Thank God we have trees and moms to
to watch over us.

Thank you for stopping by...
Enjoy your day.

Art Prize - 2010

The piece...
Lure / Wave
The artist...

The artist created this delicate sculpture
using as her foundation the
Chinese legend of
red threads
which bind each and every living soul to it's
soul mate.

To view this fragile piece you have to
stand out on the sidewalk and look in....

The slightest whisper of air within the space
stirs the threads...
It is thought that if two red silk disks touch...
someone somewhere has found
their soulmate.
