Flu flu go away....
Flu..flu...go away....
and take the rain with you!
Last week's flu bug has returned...or never left.
The text message came in...
'chills and a headache.'
I picked darling daughter up from school after she finished
a calculus test..
We headed straight for the doctors office.
The doctor sent us home with prescriptions and
orders to stay in bed...
We headed straight for the doctors office.
The doctor sent us home with prescriptions and
orders to stay in bed...
So I gave her a cup of favorite tea..
in a favorite mug...
Tucked her in bed...
With down comforters and extra pillows...
and the tv remote...
Within minutes she was asleep..
No Friday night football tonight.
Received a message from my husband...
He is on his way home from traveling all week.
He started the week in Washington,DC visiting
#1 son...who has the flu.
Mid-week he traveled by train to Baltimore
to attend a conference on....
take a guess....
The H1N1-flu
and
How to Manage a Pandemic
It will be interesting to hear what he learned...
Just hope he left the conference 'virus free'
He is due in the door any minute.
I made myself a cup of tea.....

The Eve of the Eve of Halloween....
Hallowe'en
The ghosts of all things past parade,
Emerging from the mist and shade
That hid them from our gaze,
And, full of song and ringing mirth,
In one glad moment of rebirth,
And again they walk the ways of earth
As in the ancient days.

Sunny Skies....
Today I got my wish!
The sun was out...
The air was warm....
I stepped out of the garden gate onto a yard full of leaves.
Should I spend the day raking?
I think not.
I leashed up Miss Sophie
and grabbed my camera...
The sky was a beautiful, intense Michigan blue...
Sophie and I headed down to the lake...
We took the nature trail to the marsh end....
We startled some ducks...
sent them scurrying into the reeds.
We startled some ducks...
sent them scurrying into the reeds.
Everywhere I looked was a postcard view.
It was a lovely... gorgeous day!

It's Raining Again.....
It rained today...
It's raining now.....
Everything in town is buttoning up...
I can't help but wonder...
Will we get just a few more warm days
before the snow flies?
Just one more chance to enjoy lunch
or a cup of coffee
al fresco.
Oh no, it's raining again!
Oh no, it's raining again!

Homecoming Week.....
Last night was a beautiful night for a football game...
powder puff football.
powder puff football.
The sky was clear...
The smell of autumn was in the night air...
The smell of autumn was in the night air...
The temperature was mild...a nice relief after a week of bitter cold.
The senior girls won the game...
(with a little help from some senior boys in charge of the scoreboard...)
What made the evening extra special....
was hearing our darling daughter's name announced..
for the Homecoming Court!

Falling.....
Before I went to work this morning....
I stepped out on the deck and captured a few images of fall.
The leaves were brilliant with color.
The morning air was a very chilly 34 degrees...
I hurried little Miss Sophie along and
headed back into the house for a
cup of hot coffee.
p.s. this one is for you, mom ; )
