Starting out a New Year is like starting out on a
new adventure, a new road trip.
The months, days and weeks are like the framework of a map.
You can plan and pack accordingly, but there will always
be something that comes up and surprises you.
How you manage the surprises is the key to interpreting and navigating the map.
Last year brought me a wealth of new knowledge and wisdom in the form
of a very unconventional friendship.
Something that was so 'out of my comfort zone' became the
most extraordinary new adventure, new discovery,
new destination on my life roadmap.
A true gift.
I am not going to make any predictions,or new years resolutions.
I am... going to let the New Year unfold and see where we go.
Life is the ultimate open road.
2019...Let the road trip begin!
(The first photo was taken the morning of December 30, 2018 as I was heading
out of Carbondale, Colorado towards Glenwood Springs.
The morning was beautiful.
The second photo is my shadow in the snow as I walked the road from
PineCreek cookhouse back to Ashcroft.
The wind was sub zero, bitter cold but the sun had that
warmth that makes you feel alive and healthy and
happy to be outside in the mountain air.)
